Employment

Construction is a demanding yet rewarding industry. There are many different roles to suit your individual talents and personality. We offer skills-based training and will sponsor if you decide to continue your education on a day release basis. Career options include:

  • Construction Management

Construction Managers must be good problem-solvers and forward planners. They have great people skills and are good at presenting and discussing ideas in meetings. They have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction business, are well organised and have a good head for figures.
  • Civil Engineering

Civil Engineers shape the infrastructure of our society by building roads, harbours, railways, airports, hospitals and schools. They are the inventive people who design, build and maintain the environment in which we live.
  • Quantity Surveying

Quantity Surveyors are highly numerate and enjoy dealing with money. They also know a great deal about building legislation, construction materials, design and construction and are highly organised and great negotiators.
  • Design Management

Design Managers advise on the practicalities and programme implications of different building methods, and give value engineering experience of building products and materials. They consider issues connected with planning requirements, environmental matters, waste management and site set-up.
