Our Environmental Management System is compliant with ISO 14001 and includes objectives to reduce waste and monitor and reduce our carbon footprint.

Our commitment

Osborne’s commitment to the environment includes:

  • Avoiding pollution on site
  • Achieving - the necessary regulatory consent, best practice and industry requirements applicable to our business activities
  • Managing and controlling the environmental impacts of our activities and those of our subcontractors
  • Providing the resources and training to ensure staff can manage the environment
  • Employing effective waste management practices and procedures

Immediate aims for the future include maintaining ISO14001 accreditation, showing continuous improvement in the reduction of waste and establishing a baseline for carbon emissions resulting from business mileage.

In 2006 we recycled 16% of site skip waste, up from 10% the previous year.

Using our influence

As a construction company we can influence the decisions clients make, and we try to use that influence to encourage the use of efficient construction techniques, and recycled and sustainable materials. We are also active in the development of energy efficient design, including the Innovare System Structural Insulated Panel System, which has extremely high levels of sustainability and thermal efficiency.
